About: Finished school and wanted to do a gap year between school and University, therefore I decided to go abroad. I have been to Costa Rica, I lived there for three months and worked at an animal rescue centre. I was originally planning to go on my own, but during a moment of weakness I was afraid I couldn’t do it alone. In the end I went on my own and I am glad I did, because I had an amazing time and now I know I can do it on my own.
Why did you decide to travel? I didn’t want to study, I wanted to see the world, meet new people and experience new things.
Where do you come from? Nuremberg, Germany

What is your number one tip for travelling? Be open minded
What has been your biggest challenge to overcome? Finding my way at Saint Jose in Costa Rica because everything was in Spanish and I didn’t speak Spanish at the time. I was so lost, I didn’t know what to do. But I managed and I am here tell the story.
What do you miss about home? Bread and my mother and my father.
What have you learned about yourself? That I can do everything I want to do, no matter how hard it is. If I want it then I can do it.
Favourite Quote? Who fights can lose, who doesn’t fight has already lost.
Favourite new thing? (i.e. food you have tried, skill, tradition, place) People’s kindness and willingness to help.
What advise would you give to other girls wanting to travel? Don’t be afraid, once you are there you always find people who are in the same situation as you and you always meet good people.
